Mappings on multi elements

To start mapping your model with Virtual Bench, you must have imported your types and flows, according to the method described in the related page.

In some cases, you will want to create and use the same instance of a mapping on several elements of the same type. Being able to instantiate those mappings in one click will save you a lot of time.

Let's use one mapping to turn on all of the following lights:

Five identical elements

In Edit Mode, select all elements by Left clicking while maintaining the Ctrl key:

Selection of five identical elements

Once all needed elements are selected, you can Right click on one of them and go to the usual mapping options. Since several elements are selected, the choices that you see are extended with the text "to multiple elements":

Multi mapping options

Select the appropriate option, depending on whether the mapping will be a Simu to Model, a Model to Simu, or a Simu to Simu mapping. (If the mapping already exists, select "Add", otherwise, select "Create").

Then, the process of mapping addition or creation is the same as for one mapping:

Multi mapping creation

After creating or adding your mappings, you should have for each individual element, an instance of the mapping:

When using the flow once, the mapping instances will affect all elements:
